Newsflash
Harry Potter Club, Coastside
Want to make potions?

The Perfumers Apprentice in Santa Cruz has just announced a Potions Workshop!

Details below.  We are up for December 28 if we can get Half Moon Bay Harry Potter fans to confirm that they will participate.  Payment details can be found at Perfumers Apprentice website below.
For more information, just email deb (at) debocracy.org or call 650-726-7805.

Greetings from The Perfumer's Apprentice:

There are now two Wizarding Workshops scheduled for next week. I'm very
excited about this magical opportunity that I can share with you all.

They will be Tuesday the 22nd from 7:00 pm to 8:30 pm and

Friday the 25th  from 7:00 pm to 8:30 pm.

i will probably schedule more depending on how much
damage is done. (just kidding, sorta)

For these first two classes there will be a maximum of 12 seats
available. Children under 14 must be accompanied by a parent or responsible
adult, due to the hazardous nature of some of the class assignments.
(Magic can be hazardous, you know)

Pre-Registration and pre-payment for these classes is necessary
this time, because of the limited seating.
The cost is $15.00, and you can register by phone at (831) 466-0288

Remember, these workshops have nothing to do with perfume, and
everything to do with magic!

My goal is to create the closest experience to an actual Hogwart's Potions
class that can be done in the Muggle world. ( I will be in costume, of
course!) There will be lots of flames and hopefully not too many explosions!

Unless, of course, we have a Neville Longbottom in the group.

(I'm really just a kid at heart!)

Plans
The Harry Potter Club hopes to meet once a month.

Ideas for meetings:

  • Cook Harry Potter food
  • Masquerade parties
  • Read and discuss Harry Potter books and movies
  • Read and discuss other high quality literature that appeals to this age group
Some other books that children of this age enjoy reading include C.S. Lewis's the Chronicles of Narnia, and Ursula LeGuin's EarthSea Trilogy.
